Title V and PREP

This past Friday, HHS released two Funding Announcements impacting State sex education programs. One was for Title V Abstinence Education Funding; the other was for the new Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP), which is a contraceptive-centered initiative. NAEA has created brief fact sheets for each funding stream. They may be accessed here; Title V and PREP. The estimated state allocation for Title V and Prep are also attached. We strongly urge all states to accept Title V funds for abstinence-centered education - the only sexual risk avoidance program currently funded by the federal government.
